What is the function of the lining of a suit?

1. Covering
Just like the casing of a computer, there are various parts and fabric seams inside the suit, and the lining can play a covering role. For example, a summer unlined suit is made of only one layer of fabric without a lining, and all seams of the fabric need to be hemmed.

2. Anti-static
Many suit fabrics are made of wool fiber, and wool fiber easily generates static electricity when it rubs with other substances. Severe static electricity can cause discomfort and deformation of clothing.

3. More comfortable when in contact with skin
The lining will directly contact the skin. In order to make the wearer more comfortable and at the same time protect the inner clothes in the jacket from wear and tear, lining is generally added to the suit.
